## Credits Count

Dropcontact operates on a **Pay on Success** model: you only pay for results.

A credit is consumed in two cases:

- **Email enrichment**: a credit is consumed only if the API returns a verified email address. Verification is included in that same credit. The credit is taken when the request is sent, then given back automatically if no email is found.
- **Email verification only**: if you pass an email address in the `"email"` field of the request, 1 credit is consumed for that verification. It is only 1 credit, even if another email is found, and it is not given back, even if the email sent turns out to be invalid.

If you don't have enough credits for all the records of the request, the whole request is refused with a `403` error. See [Errors](https://developer.dropcontact.com/en/errors/).

## Credits Roll Over / Carry Over option

Your unused credits roll over to the next billing period if this option is enabled for your current subscription.

## Credits Left

The `credits_left` field is returned in the responses of [Enrich a batch of records](https://developer.dropcontact.com/en/reference/enrich-a-batch-of-records/) and [Fetch enrichment results](https://developer.dropcontact.com/en/reference/fetch-enrichment-results/). It is not in webhooks.

To check your credits at any time, use the [Get Credits](https://developer.dropcontact.com/en/reference/get-credits/) endpoint. It returns the same balance, in the `credits` field.
